BRING ABDI HOME

A campaign run by a coalition of organizations including Freedom to Thrive, Black Alliance for Justice Immigration, UndocuBlack, Color of Change and Families for Freedom. Abdikadir Mohammed was an innocent man detained and jailed by Immigration Customs Enforcement Agents for a year and a half. With the support of his family and lawyers we advocated for his freedom. We garnered 20,000 signatures on a petition for his release, engaged digitally to tell his story & engage supporters in two phone blitz actions to call the ICE officer and Field Director. My role was to focus on the digital organizing side; design the image, write & share his story to demand for his release. After six months of organizing and amazing legal advocacy Abdikadir was released and reunited with his family.
